Knights score with 2 minutes to beat Vikings

Norwell snuck past at Huntington North in girls’ soccer 3-2 Tuesday night.

Grace Mann scored a hat trick and scored with less than two minutes left to lead the Knights to their now 10-5 record and 3-4 in the Northeast 8 Conference.

Abby Wagner was in goal for the Knights.

Coach Dan Batdorff credited Emerson Meredith and the strong Knights’ defensive effort.

Norwell and Huntington North tied the junior varsity match at 0.

Norwell will host Woodlan for the season finale at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Tigers swept by Patriots in ACAC volleyball match

Bluffton was swept by Heritage at home in volleyball Tuesday night.

The Tigers fell by scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-22. Their record falls to 8-16 (1-6 ACAC).

Stat leaders: Maryn Schreiber 10 kills, Isla Gibson 18 assists and 17 digs, Marly Drayer, Gibson, and Jaida Mills one ace and Eisenhut two blocks.

Bluffton won the junior varsity match 2-0 (25-20, 25-18). Stat leaders: Lucynda Mace seven kills, Kamryn Ault 17 assists, Ava Trexler, Aleyda Cruz and Breeanna Schmidt two aces and Mills 12 digs.

Bluffton will host Norwell at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7.

Tigers top Raiders in middle school football

Bluffton defeated Southern Wells 26-6 in middle school football and improved to 5-1 on the season Tuesday.

The Tigers’ scoring drives included: Davin Drayer with an 11-yard, 65-yard and 32-yard touchdown runs, Kreigh Ault to Riker Beste for an 11-yard touchdown throw and catch.
