Here I am again with way too much to do!! I am looking forward to October, November and December when things will slow down a bit for our family. I will then have time to do way more with family and friends and maybe to report the news to you.
Robin & I went over to see the opening parade of the Ossian Days Festival. The parade was great and we saw many friends and family there.
Last week we went to the opening parade on Tuesday at the Bluffton Street Fair. In the meantime we will attend our grandson’s wedding and get things packed up for Huntington Pioneer Days that is open Saturday and Sunday the 28th and 29th.

I hope they will soon bring us our “I Am Allen” figerglass structure at least before the end of the year.
Don’t miss the movie entitled “The Carpenter’s Prayer” as it is just great and has been showing in Huntington where it began at the University. You will recognize some of the names on the list at the end of the show.
The Creative Arts Council of Wells County announced these two coming events: Mark Twain’s ‘Tom Sawyer” & Auditions for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”.
I will want to see the new filmn “Reagan” that is based on the book”The Crusader Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism”. It tells how Reagan won the Cold War and covers his entire life.
Somewhere in this house I have several VHS tapes on Reagan and his wife Nancy. I will have to get them out as I still have a player.
As we wait on the statue we will be getting from Allen County I have found some others that are being placed or discovered.
A bronze statue from the Titanic “Diana of Versailles” -not seen in decades was salvaged this summer from the wreckage. It was last seen in 1986.
Our family went by the house that this film was made in on many of our vacations to the east coast. You will have to search Google to find where it is.
The Ft. Wayne Komets, when their season opens in October will be featured on WXKE a classic rock station at 96.5 FM. They will no longer be on WOWO.
The Lilly Endowment recently awarded a $50 million grant to our Indiana State Parks. An additional $10 million was also awarded for deferred maintenance need.
Kenny & I took our family to visit Prophetstown many years ago. It was a great experience then. I believe there was an outdoor play at the time.
The Indiana Secured Safety Board recently approved grants to support school safety initiatives in all 92 counties. Among those were nearby: Huntington Catholic, Huntington Community Schools, Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School District, Southwest Allen County Schools, Norwell Community Schools, St. Peter’s Lutheran and Southern Wells Community Schools.
