On Thursday, Sept. 5, Ossian Rotary will host Aaron and Christie Bernier, school psychologists with Norwell Community Schools. They will discuss their roles in assisting students in the various Norwell schools at all levels.

Both Aaron and Christie graduated with doctorates in psychology from National Louis University in Chicago in 2021. Aaron’s higher education actually began at American Public University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s in business degree, followed by degrees in administration and educational psychology. Additionally, he is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with the National Association of School Psychologists. Aaron also served on the board of the Arizona Psychological Foundation from 2023-2024.

Aaron is a strong advocate of students with disabilities and helping them reach their greatest potential. Prior to entering the educational field, he was self-employed for twenty years managing a range of businesses including retail, service, production, and marketing companies. Aaron is a U.S. Navy veteran.

Christie Bernier began her educational career in at the University of Saint Francis where she earned her associates of science degree in surgical technology and her double bachelor of science in elementary education and special education. She also attended Argosy University in Phoenix, where she graduated with her master’s degree in educational psychology and her education specialist degree. Christie is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with the National Association of School Psychologists. Additionally, Christie was a special education teacher from 2004 through 2014. Christie is very passionate about working with students with disabilities and helping them gain the skills they need to become lifelong learners. She has always had a special place in her heart for working with children with disabilities.

Both Aaron and Christie grew up in Fort Wayne and are graduates of Carroll High School.
