Knights claim third straight girls’ soccer win
Norwell notched its third straight victory in girls’ soccer on Tuesday.
The Knights won 5-0 at Wayne, led by Grace Mann’s four goals and one assist. Mann now had 12 goals on the season and is averaging two per game. Aubrey Meyer scored a goal and Hallie Smith added an assist.
Head coach Dan Batdorf noted defenders Emerson Meredith, Elise Boomershine, Addison Roembke, Haley Williamson, Adrienne Wagner, Smith and Madison Mashuda contributing to the Knights’ second straight shutout. Abby Wagner and Maggie Neuenschwander were the goalies.
The defense and goaltending has allowed one goal over their past three contests.
Norwell will be at home next hosting New Haven at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Raiders top Norseman in girls’ golf match
Southern Wells won another girls’ golf match on Tuesday.
The Raiders took the trip to Northfield and shot a 195 to the Norseman’s 204.
Kolbie Beavans was the top scorer for the Raiders with a 46, followed by Callie Ripperger (47), Sophie Meeks (49) and Erika Beavans (53).
Southern Wells will be at Canterbury at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12.
Knights pick up NE8 girls’ golf win over Eagles
Norwell took down Northeast 8 Conference foe Columbia City in girls’ golf at Timber Ridge on Tuesday.
The Knights shot a 176 to the Eagles 232.
Ellie Gatton was the medalist with a 39, followed by Savanna Simerman (44), Jessica Bynum (45), Jacquelyn Mayer (48) and Emma Burnau (49).
Norwell also had two golfers for junior varsity: Jordyn Shroyer with a 43 and Kylee Nevius 49.
Norwell will host Leo at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Tigers follow loss with win over Apaches in boys’ tennis
Bluffton got back on track in boys’ tennis on Tuesday.
At Wabash, the Tigers won 4-1 after falling in their first match of the season to Leo the night before. Bluffton is 6-1 now on the season.

Raiders fall to Starfires in volleyball ACAC opener
Southern Wells fell in its first ACAC matchup of the season on the road to South Adams on Tuesday.
The Raiders fell 25-18, 25-8 and 25-13. Southern Wells is now 7-7 on the season.
Abbie Powell had nine kills, nine digs and three blocks. Kaylea Coffel had 12 digs and McKenna King nine digs.
Southern Wells will be at Lakeland Christian at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept 14.
Knights drop in three sets to Saints in volleyball
Norwell fell to Dwenger in straight sets in volleyball at The Castle Tuesday night.
Scores were 25-23, 25-20 and 25-23. The Knights are now 7-6 on the season.
Stat leaders: Mekynzi Beck six kills, Emma Vachon 15 assists, Autumn Lee 20 digs, Vanessa Rosswurm three blocks and Lee and Rebecca Settle one ace.
Norwell fell in both the junior varsity match 2-0 (25-16, 25-18) and freshman match 2-1 (25-15, 16-25, 12-15).
Norwell will be at Northfield at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.
