Knights top Starfires in road boys’ tennis match

Norwell got back on track in tennis Monday night.

After falling in their last three matches, the Knights took down South Adams on the road 3-2. They improved to a 5-3 record on the year.

Individual results:

• Cole Hyman (SA) defeated Gavin Reynolds 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.

• Kade Sprunger (SA) defeated Braylong Troutt 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

• Landon Diver (N) defeated Kane Surwold 7-6, 7-2, 7-5 at No.3 singles.

• Eddie Archbold and Ayden Quintanilla (N) defeated Gabe Neuenschwander and Ian Neuenschwander 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles

• Dylan Randol and Ethan Williamson (N) defeated Isaiah Conrad and Ben Dubach 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Norwell won the junior varsity match 4-1.

• Levi White (N) defeated Griffin Hill 8-4.

• Carter DeWeese (N) defeated Alex Stutzman 8-4.

• Christian Werling and Brady Watkins (N) defeated Griffin Hill and Eli Habbeger 6-2.

• Eli Habegger (SA) defeated Braden Hoag 8-5.

• Jensen Miller (N) defeated Alex Stutzman 6-3.

Norwell will be at home against DeKalb at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Tigers fall at Norseman in volleyball match

Bluffton’s volleyball team fell at Northfield in three sets Monday night.

The Tigers lost by scores of 25-18, 25-12 and 25-18. Bluffton is now 2-8 on the season.

Stat leaders were Maryn Schreiber with six kills, Isla Gibson with nine assists and four aces, Marly Drayer with 18 digs and Schreiber with two blocks.

The junior varsity team fell 2-1 (14-25, 25-14, 10-15). Stat leaders were: Ava Trexler with four kills, Kamryn Ault with seven assists, Lucynda Mace and Grace Fry with four aces, Fry with eight digs and Mace with three blocks.

Bluffton will host Jay County at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.
