Mary Martin has been named the 2024 Bluffton Parks Department Volunteer of the Year.
Established in 2001, the Eugene Edington Memorial Award is a testament to the selfless dedication of individuals who generously serve our community.
Parks Department Supertinendent Brandy Fiechter said Martin’s impact on the community is immeasurable. “Her years of service with our department, including the distribution of food each Tuesday at the Farm Wagon, have been a true blessing,” Fiechter said. “Her involvement with the Friends of the Shelter, where she currently serves as president, is equally commendable. Mary’s diligent work aids the Animal Shelter in its mission to help pets in need, including the distribution of pet food every other week.”
