Gerald and Ruth Moreland will be celebrating 60 years of marriage on Friday, August 30. They were married in 1964 in Nashport, Ohio after five years of “letter writing” and courtship in high school and college.
Ruth was a school teacher for 24 years and Gerald has had 60 years as a minister in the Lord’s service. They both celebrated “80 year birthdays” this year. They also celebrated 20 years of ministry in Warren with Ruth retiring 20 years ago from Salamonie School and Gerald retiring in April from his Chaplaincy at Heritage Pointe of Warren for 14 years. They have resided in a townhome at Heritage Pointe for the last 14 years.
They are celebrating with a week in Shipshewana, 12 days in Branson Missouri and a week in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
They both feel God has been so good to them with four wonderful children (Rachel Smith, Angela Denney, Sarah Hubert and Luke Moreland), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
