Chandler Harnish will be honored for his Region 3, Indiana Football Hall of Fame 2024 selection next week on Monday, July 15.

Goeglein’s Banquet Hall will host the event honoring five members including Harnish, Glen Steele, Chris Dittoe, Bob Bergeron and Roosevelt Barnes. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the inductions at 7 p.m. Cost is $55 per person.

Harnish is a Norwell High School graduate, where he played football, basketball and ran track and excelled at all three. He was an all-state selection in 2006 and was a key component in the state runner-up team that finished 14-1, according to online statistics.

Entering college, Harnish made his name behind center as a four-year starting quarterback at Northern Illinois University. His career totals included 8,944 passing yards, 2,983 rushing yards and nearly 100 total touchdowns, and earned him a 2022 NIU Hall of Fame honor.

In April 2012, the Indianapolis Colts selected Harnish with the 253rd pick.

His NFL career lasted a few seasons with the Colts, Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals.
