When will taxpayers say “enough is enough”? We just received our property taxes payable this year, and they went up 25% — after having gone up 25% last year as well. While we’re familiar with the argument that it’s a good thing to have your property assessed at higher amounts, these continued rates are unsustainable. I’ve talked to others, and they are having the same types of increases.

Everyone is busy — just living their lives. But taxpayers need to wake up and pay attention and get involved.

The real issue is the government’s spending problem – starting with our local one. This is where the changes need to start. We need to be aware of the groups and the people making the decisions that ultimately add to our tax burden.
