Knights top Bulldogs in Northeast 8 softball
The Norwell softball team improved to 2-1 in the Northeast 8 Conference with a 12-3 home victory over New Haven Friday night.
The Knights jumped to 6-4 overall with the win.
In the 12-hit effort (all of which were singles), Sami Lemler and Nevada Lenwell had three-hit nights. Leah Werling had a two-hit night. Teagan Lesley drove in three runs, while Lemler drove in two.
Lemler also picked up the win on the mound, throwing six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and struck out nine. Kayla Watkins threw a perfect inning in relief.
Norwell will host DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 6.
Knights win boys’ soccer match in middle school
Norwell won its boys’ soccer game Thursday night over Riverview 3-1.
Cooper Nagel scored two of the goals, while Blake Fuess scored one. Storms rained out the girls’ game.
Knights win in MS golf
Norwell’s middle school golf team won over Indian Springs 240-249.
Isaiah Goeglein scored a 43 on the back nine to lead the team and was the medalist.
