It’s a bustling day in Bluffton today, with the city-wide garage sales already underway. If you haven’t had a chance to explore them yet, you’re missing out! Today marks the final day of shopping, wrapping up by 4 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to grab some great deals. For a comprehensive list of all the sales, visit https://tinyurl.com/mt83kuw7.

If you have driven on the north side of town, you will have noticed that progress has been made on the Interurban trail between all the rainy days we have had. At the same time, work has been moving forward at Lancaster Park, and if all goes well, new asphalt should be coming next week for the parking lot. As a reminder, Lancaster Park is fully closed to the public while we are under construction. Please enjoy our other parks until we get this one finished.

If you are a Bluffton City Gym member, we want to let you know that the basketball and racquetball courts will be closed for maintenance from May 20-24, so that they can be sanded and sealed. During this time, members will still have access to the weight room and restrooms (by walking through the weight room). If you are still looking for a gym to join, we have discounted the rates to only $75 for a single membership from now until the end of the year. Stop by the park office on the 2nd floor of City Hall to join.

We are so happy with how great the Wells Community pool house looks with the new siding from L & S Construction/ Barn Builders & More. They have done a fantastic job, and we are so thankful for their kindness in donating all their labor to this project. If you see Leander and his crew, be sure to thank them for their hard work. Their generosity is greatly appreciated.

Speaking of the pool, dates are filling up fast for after-hour pool parties. To schedule your next birthday party or celebration, call 824-6069. The pool opens on Memorial Weekend.

Don’t panic if you missed swim registration last Saturday; we still have many openings. The two-week, one-hour classes are only $20 per child and are good for kids in kindergarten through high school. The Tot Swim and Pee Wee Swim Lessons are for ages 2–3 years or 4—Pre-K, for a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday class for only $6. A parent or other adult must get in the water with the child during class. Call our office at 824-6069 to sign up.

The next FREE Theater Thursday will be May 16, at the Wells County Public Library starting at 10 a.m. Adults are invited to join us for a movie and snacks every 3rd Thursday of the month.

We want to thank Elks Lodge 796 for donating funds for eight new life vests. We appreciate their heart for the children in this community and know that these vests will be put to good use this summer at the Wells Community Pool.

We also want to thank Outdoor Concepts for donating two beautiful yellowwood trees to Lancaster Park in honor of Arbor Day. We sincerely appreciate this lasting gift that will benefit park users for years to come. Stop out at Outdoor Concepts this weekend for their customer appreciation event and take advantage of great discounts.

Have a great week!
