As I write this column it is sunshine and the birds are singing. It is a little chilly though. Everyone is out mowing their lawns and working in their yards and gardens.
The Lions Club needs volunteers to mow the grass at the park. If you can mow, even one time, give me a call at 638-4327 and a date you will be available. The diamond is now being used and they mow inside the fence. Left is the grass on the south part of the property and the grass south of the pavilion and east of the clubhouse. If you want to help in any way to keep the park looking good please call me.
Don’t forget to get your East Union Center reservations in as alumni is Saturday, May 4.
Coming up soon is the Zanesville Lions Club 5K Run Walk on Saturday, May 25, at 8 a.m. I will put more news about this in the next column.
Mailings have been sent out to sponsors of both the 5K and the Car Show on July 27 that is held during the Lions Club Summer Festival. If you have something to add to the Festival Day please let me know.
Don’t forget that Mother’s Day is coming up on May 12 and Memorial Day on May 27. If you need wreaths, the Lions still have some to sell at $5 each and we also have apple dumplings for sale for $3 each at County Line Pizza and Pub and by calling also.
We now have choices for inside dining and carryout at Sis & Bub’s and County Line Pizza and Pub. You can also buy all kinds of good food for a picnic from Lengerich and nearby you can eat it in the Lions Club Pavilion out back. It is hard to make a choice of spots as all of these serve good food and great hospitality.
Sis & Bub’s Kitchen (little new Zanesville diner) will be having a grand opening on Saturday, May 11, just in time for you to bring Mom out to celebrate Mother’s Day. They will have their new hours, new menu and will be giving away T-shirts, cups, gift cards, and more all day. Ask about our patio club.
