Council approves additional appropriations, transfers
The Wells County Council approved a series of additional appropriations during their meeting Tuesday. They were as follows:
• Sheriff’s Department: $10,305 for overtime, to be reimbursed by the Ossian Police Department, $63,900 for police vehicles and $11,900 for equipment.
• Health Department: $4,042.10 for part-time clerical work, $5,726.30 for supplies, $3,368.41 for contractual services, $5,389.46 for other services, $1,684.21 for travel and $13,473.66 for equipment. These funds were reimbursed by an Immunization Cooperative Agreement grant.
• Clerk’s Office: $909.89 for supplies, $17,985 for maintenance and $9,000 for app development. These funds were reimbursed by a federal HAVA grant.
• Superior Court: $2,000 for translation services. These funds will be reimbursed by a court interpreter grant.
• CASA: $10,749 for the director, $3,000 for guardian ad litem, $230 for volunteer recognition, $500 for training and recognition and $2,777 for room rental.
• Highway Department: $555,848 for Community Crossing Matching Grant for rehabilitation of County Road 450 East from 1000 North to 11000 North.
All council members were present Tuesday.
Drainage board appoints qualified deputy
The Drainage Board unanimously approved Corey McKinney as a qualified deputy during their Monday meeting. Surveyor Jarrod also presented an annual Flood Safety Awareness proclamation during the following commissioners’ meeting.
