This legislative session, Norwell High School graduate Hayden Emrah is gaining professional experience as a legislative intern with the Indiana House of Representatives.

Emrah, a Wells County native, is the son of Josh and Tori Emrah. He graduated from Ball State University in 2022 with a degree in public relations.

“This opportunity to meet so many incredible people while completing meaningful work on behalf of Hoosiers has been a rewarding experience,” Emrah said. “I’m grateful to be able to learn and work alongside staffers and legislators, and I’m excited to use the skills I’ve gained here in my future career.”

As a legislative intern, Emrah corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.

“I’m delighted to see the exceptional work Hayden has done during his internship,” Lehman said. “His commitment and strong interpersonal skills have helped greatly throughout session, and it’s good to see a local student take advantage of this opportunity.

At the start of each year, the Indiana House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law students, graduate students, and recent college graduates for the duration of the legislative session.
