SUPERINTENDENT CONTRACT

On Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the High School Media Center, 9120 S 300 W; Poneto, IN 46781, the School Board will meet to discuss and hear objections to and support for the proposed Superintendent’s contract for employment.

EFFECTIVE CONTRACT DATES: July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026

ANNUAL SALARY: $113,000 for school year 2023-24; $116,000 for school year 2024-25

VACATION DAYS: 20 days per year

Any continuous days beyond five must have Board approval.

PAID HOLIDAYS: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Fall Break (2 days), Thanksgiving Break (2 days), Christmas Break (2 days)

ANNUAL 401a ANNUITY: $5,000

HEALTH INSURANCE: Family HDHP1 plan ($20,376 for 2024) provided for $1.00 with $5,000 annually contributed to a HSA

LIFE INSURANCE: $100,000 term life plan ($132 for 2024) for $1.00

LONG TERM DISABILITY: LTD plan ($326.57 for 2024) for $1.00

Indiana TRF: 3% of the annual salary ($3360 for 2023-24) is paid by the school corporation per teachers’ contract for the Teachers’ Retirement Fund (TRF)

LEAVE DAYS: Days available per master teacher contract provision. Maximum accumulation of 180 days.

MILEAGE: The superintendent is encouraged to use a corporation owned vehicle for corporation business. When corporation transportation is not available, he shall be reimbursed for miles driven in personal car when on corporation business. Rate established by corporation.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS: The Corporation agrees to pay membership fees for the following associations:

Indiana Association of School Business Officials

Indiana School Board Association

Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents

Upper Wabash Valley Superintendent Study Council

As the superintendent has an underlying teacher contract, all provisions of the collective bargaining agreement shall be afforded as well. In addition, the superintendent shall be considered immediately vested for retirement purposes and benefits as defined with the collective bargaining agreement.
