Pop-up artists at Warren’s Pulse
Folks who will be having their items showcased in the Pulse Opera House’s lobby, one hour before the curtain goes up on “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” will include seven area individuals.
The dates they will be featured include:
Nov. 24: Danny Woelver’s paintings and embroidery as crafted by his pseudonym BluedantheLion.
Nov. 25: Dawn Harper’s jewelry made mostly of glass and crystal beads.
Nov. 26: Mae Crauder-Davis creates mixed media collages and makes fused glass to embellish her art and pendants.
‘Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ at Warren’s Pulse
Be ready for some laughs as the Pulse Opera House presents “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” on Nov. 24-26, Dec. 1-3 at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Members of the cast include: Marcy Gilleand, Tim Gilleand, Elizabeth Drummond and Malcolm Voght (the Bradley family); Eli Gilleand, Sophia Miner, Hanson Hensley, Rupp Hensley, Robinson Walter, Vivian Littell (Herdman kids); Audrey Tish, Julie Turney, Erin Harlan, Linda Willard, Lina Willard, Eloise Walter, Wyatt Blair, Amos Littell, Gabe Fornal, Lucy Walter, Daphne Aherns, Keeli Elliot, Jeff Walter and the choir: Giselle Barton, Morgan Blair, Ellie Coyne, Makayla Fulton, Megan Gilleand, Izzy Harlan, Allison Herstadt. Gwen Kelsey, Jessica Littell and Kira Stansell.
Cynthia Smyth-Wartzok is director and Carson Cunningham is musical director.

Christ Child Festival at Allen County Public Library
On Friday, Nov. 24 the Christ Child Festival will be celebrated at the Allen County Pubic Library rooms A, B and C.
The free event includes following “The Crimson Thread” to grasp the significance of the Christ of Christmas. Participants will be able to create a craft corresponding with each biblical display message.

Pokagon’s Toboggan Run opens Nov. 24th
The Toboggan Run at Pokagon State Park will open for the season on Friday, Nov. 24, with hours from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends through Feb. 19th.
In addition to weekends the slide will be open every day Dec. 23-31. Sleds rent for $20 per hour and the park entry is $7 per car. Gloves must be worn when riding. A warming house is available as are concessions. The slide closes if the weather is below zero.
The wooden slide was originally built in 1935 by members of the CCC and over the years higher towers and a second track have been erected. Refrigeration was added in 1971 to allow for operation even without snow.
Cross country skis and snowshoes also are available for rental during the same hours of the slide operation.
Activities and exhibits at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art
Current exhibits at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art include the following:
Indiana Artists Club 2023 Annual Members Exhibition, through Nov. 26. Ossian artist Joel Fremion is one of the featured artists. Over 50 diverse works by Indiana artists are in the exhibit. Nick Antonakis was juror for this exhibit. This club was founded in 1917 by 46 Indiana artists.
The new Glass Wing is now open and features 400 glass pieces.
Represented are glass pioneers such as Harvey Littleton, Erwin Eisch and Dale Chihuly as well as contemporary masters including Martin Bak, Therman Statom, Marta Kiononweka, Paul Stankard and Toots Zynsky.
‘Timeless Tradition—40 years’ at Botanical Conservatory
“Timeless Tradition: 40 years” will be the theme for the Fort Wayne Botanical Gardens holiday display this year from Nov. 18 to Jan. 7.
Special programs during this time will include:
*Those 2 guys in Suits & Ties. Musical entertainment with om Didier and Todd Frymier: Friday, Nov. 24, 5:30 p.m. Admission is $1 during the Night of Lights display.
*Holly Shopping at the Conservatory: Saturday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the Conservatory not required to shop.
Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday (until 8 p.m. on Thursdays) and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays, closed Mondays. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for youth (3-17) and free to those 2 and under. Thursday Dollar Nights are $1.
Fort Wayne Embassy’s Festival of Trees
This will be the 39th year for the Fort Wayne Embassy Theatre’s Festival of Trees to be on view from Nov. 22 to Nov. 29.
The event is the theatre’s largest fund-raising event of the year and over 22,000 viewers are expected this year. Admission includes entertainment on the stage as well as music from the Grande Page organ.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for those 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased in advance via Ticketmaster.
