Robert O. Crays, Jr., 61, Fort Wayne, was sentenced to 365 in the Wells County Jail with 309 days suspended and 309 days of probation. Crays will receive 56 days of jail credit. The sentence was issued after Crays pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. One charge for possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and one charge for possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, were dismissed pursuant to the plea agreement. Crays was also ordered to pay court costs and filing fees in the amount of $389.

Alfredo Vern Mendez, 31, Fort Wayne, appeared in the Wells Superior Court for a hearing to revoke his suspended sentence last Monday. A petition to revoke the sentence was filed in March. In December, Mendez was sentenced to 730 days in the Indiana Department of Correction with all but 180 days suspended, as well as 180 days in prison with all time suspended, to be served consecutively to one another. The sentence was issued after Mendez pled guilty to criminal recklessness and residential entry, both Level 6 felonies. During his hearing, Mendez denied violating his probation. A status hearing is scheduled for this matter at 9 a.m. on Nov. 13 in the Wells Superior Court.

Anastasia Ruth McCormack, 41, Bluffton, was sentenced to 180 days in the Indiana Department of Correction with no time suspended after she pled guilty to residential entry, a Level 6 felony. McCormack was also sentenced to an additional 180 days in the Indiana Department of Correction for a theft, a Level 6 felony. McCormack received 180 days of jail credit and was ordered to pay court costs and filing fees in the amount of $378.

Douglas R. Painter, 57, Fort Wayne, was sentenced to 60 days in the Wells County Jail with 4 days on jail credit. The sentence was issued after Painter pled guilty to operating a vehicle with a schedule I or II substance in his body, a Class C misdemeanor. Painter was originally charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor. Painter was also ordered to pay court costs and filing fees in the amount of $189.50.

Brianna Brickley, 30, Bluffton, appeared in the Wells Superior Court for a hearing to revoke her suspended sentence last Thursday. In November, Brickley was sentenced to 730 days in the Indiana Department of Correction with 730 days suspended, and 730 days of probation. A motion to revoke the sentence was filed in September. During the hearing, Brickley admitted to violating the conditions of probation and waived her right to counsel. A dispositional hearing is scheduled in this matter at 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 in the Wells Superior Court.
