“It’s a Literary World” is the theme for Ossian Days this year with events planned for 3 days — Sept. 14, 15 and 16.
Rides will be offered by Beer & Jessop Amusements and local groups will be offering food options.
Friday, Sept. 15
5 p.m.: Rides open
5-8 p.m.: Norwell Show Choir: Whole hog sausage dinner
5:30-7:30 p.m.: Face painting provided by Ossian Days Inc. by Ossian Days booth
6 p.m: Ossian Days Prince & Princess Contest
7 p.m. Appleseed Cloggers & D.J. Service in front of event tent
Saturday, Sept. 16
7-8:30 a.m.: Fishing Tourney at Archbold-Wilson Park pond; Pancake and Sausage Breakfast by St. Aloysus Knight of Columbus
9:30 a.m.: Big Wheel Race signup for ages 3 to 6 at Farmers & Merchants Bank parking lot
10 a.m.: Big Wheel Race
12 noon: Rides open; Donut Hole Eating contest (register at Ossian Days Booth)
1 p.m.: Bessie’s Movement behind event tent on Craig St.
4 p.m.: Parade line-up
6:30 p.m. Float Judging
5 p.m. Parade begns
6-9 p.m.: Free Face painting and balloon animals at Ossian Days Booth
7-9 p.m.: Austin City Band
10 p.m.: Festival closes
Events by local churches will include:
First Presbyterian Church: apple dumplings from the kitchen window and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.
New Hope Lutheran Church: Bake Sale at their booths
St. Aloysius Knight of Columbus: Pancake & Sausage Breakfast on Saturday from 7-10:30 a.m.
Tower Life Center of Zanesville: ZUM Sticks from their trailer.
