A local office for Paddlefish Solar will soon open in downtown Bluffton.

Paddlefish Solar is a subsidiary owned by EDF Renewables, a global renewable energy company, and Geenex Solar, a solar company based out of North Carolina. The two companies have renewable energy ventures throughout North America and decided to establish a local office as a contact point for Wells County community members.

While the solar farm is set to be developed in Chester and Liberty townships, its office will reside in Bluffton at 201 W. Market St. in Suite 3.

In correction to the initial reporting, Quinn Kumfer will act as the local project representative for the office. Kumfer owns and operates Treeboy Productions, a videography business based in Bluffton.

Paddlefish Solar will host an open house Wednesday, July 26 from 4-6 p.m. where Kumfer and other representatives will be present to answer questions about the project. This event will be the first of multiple opportunities to visit the office and team, Kumfer said.

As the local project representative, Kumfer will serve as a point person for inquiries about the Paddlefish Solar development and solar energy at large. Kumfer, who has long been interested in renewable energy, said he’s looking forward to providing accurate information as a familiar face in the community.
