I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to a Good Samaritan from Murray and Wells County Deputy Sheriff Cooper.

On Sunday, May 7, I lost a set of car keys. I had no idea where the keys were lost but after several days of searching our home, the keys were presumed lost. Replacing the keys would be time consuming and expensive — especially key fobs for both cars.

Late Friday afternoon, May 12, I received a telephone call from Deputy Cooper inquiring if I had recently lost a set of keys. After I described the keys on the key ring, he informed me that they’d been found in the Murray area and turned in by a Murray resident. As the key ring had no name or phone number on it for identification, Dep. Cooper contacted one of the merchants whose tags were on the ring.

About ten minutes later, he dropped the keys off at our home. Needless to say, I was extremely pleased.

We have very good citizens in Wells County and a great Sheriff’s Department, especially Dep. Cooper. This outcome most likely would not have occurred in other area counties
