The Knights won the sectional championship last year over the Braves 4-1, but this one felt much sweeter after Bellmont got the best of Norwell with a 3-2 victory earlier in the season at home. This time, the Knights got to host and used home-court advantage to take the victory.

The deciding point came down to No. 3 singles, in which Delaney Hoover avenged her loss to Bellmont’s Leila Jin with a score of 7-6(9-7), 7-5, to earn the Knights the win.

Final results:

• Olivia Selking (B) defeated Addy Heyerly (N) 6-3, 6-2 in No. 1 singles.

• Emy Faurote (B) defeated McKenna McNabb (N) 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in No. 2 singles.

• Delaney Hoover (N) defeated Leila Jin (B) 7-6(9-7), 7-5 in No. 3 singles.

• Annabelle Johnson and Macy Felger (N) defeated Isabella Ortiz and Marisol Jackson (B) 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles.

• Jordyn Xayyachack and Idoia Ochoa (N) defeated Alyssa Coffee and Kaelyn Snyder (B) 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles.

Norwell will now head to the regional round at Carroll High School to take on an opponent later to be determined.
