It’s a busy day today in Bluffton. If you haven’t already been to 10 garage sales by now, you are missing out. Today is the final day of the City-Wide Garage Sales, which usually wraps up by 4 p.m. To view a list of all the sales, visit https://tinyurl.com/yz9h9ax2. 

While you are out and about this morning, stop by City Hall from 10-noon and get the kids signed up for summer swim lessons. The 2-week 1-hour-long classes are only $20 per child and are good for any child in Kindergarten – high school. The Pee Wee Swim Lessons are for ages 4-Pre-K, and the Monday, Wednesday, Friday class is only $6, and a parent or other adult must get in the water with the child during class. If you can’t attend today’s registration, call the park office at 824-6069 on Monday to sign up for the remaining lessons. 

You can tell that summer is around the corner when you see that the Parlor City Market is just a few weeks away. The 2023 Season starts Saturday, June 3, and runs every Saturday through September 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parlor City Plaza 118 W Market Street in Downtown Bluffton. The Iron Kids’ Triathlon Registration is open for kids ages 5-12. The race will be held on Saturday, June 24, at 8:00 a.m. at the Wells Community Pool. Register online now at: https://raceroster.com/events/2023/74283/iron-kids-triathlon. There is no race day registration for this event. All finishers earn a medal. Age group awards go to the top 3 boys and girls in the following age categories: 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12. Life vests are allowed during the swim. 5/6-year-olds swim the width of the pool; 7/8-year-olds swim 2 widths; All other age groups swim 50 meters. The bike route is 1 mile on blocked-off neighborhood streets. Racers must wear a fastened bike helmet and tennis/running shoes (NO Crocs). Training wheels are accepted. One chaperone may enter the transition area, help their child find their bike, and get the helmets and shoes on. The 1/2-mile run is on a firm-packed trail and road. One chaperone may run alongside their child, age six or under.

The next Theater Thursday will be May 18 at the Wells County Public Library starting at 10 a.m. Join us for The West Side Story to see a film about love at first sight between young Tony and Maria during a high school dance in 1957 New York City. Their burgeoning romance helps to fuel the fire between the warring Jets and Sharks – two rival gangs vying for control of the streets.

The 1-hour, all-level yoga class to improve strength & flexibility while de-stressing your body and mind. In closing, we want to send a huge Thank You to Outdoor Concepts for donating and planting a beautiful Starlite Crabapple tree at Veterans Park in honor of Arbor Day last week. Their kindness really brightened our day.
