Perhaps someone needs hope today.
Perhaps someone needs comfort today.
Perhaps someone needs someone else to pray today.
Ask Jesus.
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need,” the author of Hebrews writes.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God,” Paul told the Corinthians.
“He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,” Jesus proclaimed at the beginning of His public ministry, and then He touched lepers; He fed the hungry; He forgave the woman taken in adultery.
And he wept with Mary and Martha.
And He’ll still weep today.
He Weeps
Verse 1:
To every crumbling prodigal
To the child who cries alone
Jesus knows the taste of tears
of desperate prayers and moans
Pre-chorus:
And though He reigns on streets of gold where sorrow never comes
This man of sorrows will not turn away from anyone
Chorus:
He weeps
He falls beside the sobbing soul
He weeps
And though He whispers, “I’m in control”
He weeps
The suffering Savior still leaves His throne
To hug the heart lost in shadows
Where tears of love like sweet rain flows
He weeps
Verse 2:
He heard the curses of the crowd
And still He prayed forgive
The cross, the nails could still not kill
His tender compassion
Verse 3:
Oh love divine, Oh awesome God
That not only would He die
But He welcomes all who forsake sin
And comforts when they cry
Chorus:
He weeps
He falls beside the sobbing soul
He weeps
And though He whispers, “I’m in control”
He weeps
The suffering Savior still leaves His throne
To hug the heart lost in shadows
Where tears of love like sweet rain flows
He weeps
