Criminal Cases

Jacob D. Shaffer, 30, rural Roanoke, pleaded guilty to dealing in marijuana with a prior conviction for the same or a similar offense, a Level 6 felony.

Sentenced to two years in prison, with all but two days suspended — credited as time served, and placed on probation for 728 days.

Ordered to serve 270 days of home detention, submit a DNA sample, and pay court costs and probation fees.

As part of a plea agreement, a second count of dealing marijuana with a prior conviction for the same or a similar offense, a Level 6 felony, was dismissed.

Shaffer was charged with selling marijuana to a cooperating individual with the DETECT Drug Task Force in November of 2021.

Petition for expungement and sealing of criminal records filed by Nicole Dawn Proctor, 40, Marion.

Probation transferred from Huntington County to Wells County for Karen Sue Shaw, 55, Bluffton, who is on probation until Nov. 13, 2024, following her May 9, 2017, conviction in Huntington Superior Court for dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 3 felony. Ordered to complete the Grace and Mercy program, consume no substances containing poppy seeds and follow all of the rules applied to her from Huntington County Probation.

Probation transferred from Boone County (Lebanon) to Wells County for Kassandra L. Ramirez, 22, Bluffton, who is on probation until July 3, 2023, following her conviction in Boone County Superior Court July 18, 2022, on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor. Ordered to undergo substance abuse counseling and complete a victim impact panel. She was also ordered to pay a transfer fee and user’s fees.

Cory E. Nuce, 36, Fort Wayne; expired license plate and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, Ind. 1 south of 1200N.

Probation transferred to Wells County for Nathaniel Ray Allen McCullough, Vera Cruz, who is on probation until April 23, 2032, following his conviction and sentencing for one count of burglary, a Level 4 felony.
