The Southern Wells girls golf team won the seven-team ACAC championship Saturday morning at Celina Lynx Golf Course. This was the Raiders’ first title in school history, shooting a 413 at the event.
The rest of the field finished in the order of South Adams, Bluffton, Woodlan, Adams Central, Heritage, and Jay County.
Leading the field as the top scorer was Grace Meeks, who shot a 90 on the day.
The rest of the Lady Raiders’ individual scores were Kayleigh Jones with 101, Caroline Ripperger and Hannah Duncan with 111, and Jadyn Yencer with 121.
Grace Meeks and Kayleigh Jones were named first-team all-conference, and earning second-team all-conference was Hannah Duncan and Caroline Ripperger.
Meeks and Jones were both on the first-team all conference group last year, making this their second time on the list.
The Raiders’ this season have won all four of their dual-matches, placed first in multiple-team meets, and has only lost one of their regular season matchups.
Southern Wells is scheduled for one more regular season game at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, at home against Jay County.
The sectional this season is set at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 17, at Timber Ridge Golf Course.
