The Southern Wells girls’ golf team has had a season that won its first conference title in program history. On Saturday morning, they won their first sectional and advanced to the regional for the first time ever.
At Arbor Trace Golf Club, the Lady Raiders scored a 390, 18 strokes higher than second place Northfield.
Individually, Grace Meeks was tied for second-best at the event, shooting an 88. Kayleigh Jones finished second for the Raiders with a 94, Caroline Ripperger and Hannah Duncan were next, each with a 104, and Jadyn Yencer with a 105.
The regional will be hosted by East Noble High School at East Hawk Golf Links at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept 23. Southern Wells does not have an official tee time yet.
