Green Valley Senior Golf League Championship
The Green Valley Senior Golf League hosted its championship on Tuesday. The club champion was Jim Calvisky, and the senior club champion was Lou Shroeder.
The results of the championship were Lou Shrpeder winning the championship flight with a score of 37. A-Flight was Bruce Warner (34), B-Flight Rick Oatess (39), C-Flight Tom Grzych (31), and D-Flight Arlie Higginbotham (31).
The closest to pin was Rick Oatees, and the longest putt was Arlie Higginbotham.
Norwell tennis falls to HN
The Norwell tennis team went to Huntington North for a conference matchup with the Vikings and lost 4-1. With the loss, the Knights fall to 10-4 on the season and 4-2 in the Northeast 8 Conference.
The lone win for Norwell came from Ethan Ottinger, who beat Max Fusselman 6-1, 6-1. Huntington North won the other two singles matches with Braeden Christiansen over Owen Cupp 6-0, 6-2 and Sean Holmes over Bodie Zimmer 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, the Vikings won with Joe Bowers and Ethan Zahn over Winston Frauhiger and Brason Chaney 6-2, 6-3. Mason Kline and Dale Schweller won their match over Jaden Payne and Jake Hoover 6-2, 6-2.
The Vikings’ JV team took down the Knights 5-1.
Norwell’s Eddie Archbold and Ayden Quintanilla won their match over Isaac Grogg and Zach Rice 6-1. For Huntington North, they won with Matthew Daas over Gavin Reynolds 7-6, 7-3. Michael Henderson and Dawson Jones won over Ignacio Albrecht and Gavin Reynolds 6-4. Isaac Pfliger and Peyton Huff over Brayden Wallace and Ethan Wilson 6-0. Andrew Loch Maier and Henry Tucker over Ethan Williamson and James Simmerman 6-3. Aiden Graves and Eli Carter over Alex Baker and Christian Werling 6-3.
The Knights will travel to Bluffton at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 21.
