Norwell girls’ soccer falls to Blackhawk Christian
The Norwell girls’ soccer team dropped their second game of the season (0-2) to Blackhawk Christian Saturday in a close 2-1 match.
Makenzie Fuess scored the lone goal for the Lady Knights in the loss.
The next game will feature both the varsity and JV squads against Leo, starting with JV at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 24, with varsity to follow.
Bluffton VB falls in twice at MG invitational
Bluffton’s girls volleyball team took the court Saturday morning at the Madison-Grant invitational.
In game one, the Tigers lost in three sets to Adams Central 25-17, 25-14, 25-11. Stat leaders for the match were Lauren Reiff with four kills, nine digs and three blocks, Maryn Schreiber with four kills, Cayah King with four kills and Emma Baumgartner with 12 assists and one ace.
In game two against Madison-Grant, the Tigers lost 25-21, 25-16, 25-17.
Leading the way in game two was Maryn Schreiber with four kills, Emma Baumgartner eight assists and eight digs.
The junior varisty also played two matches in the invite, losing both in two sets to Adams Central and Madison-Grant.
Game one’s stat leaders were Konley Ault with five kills Lexi Grady with eight assists, eight digs and Haddie Yergler with eight digs.
In game two, Ava Troxel with nine digs, Konley Ault with seven kills, Elycia Herrada and Haddie Yergler had 2 aces and Lexi Grady with 10 assists.
Bluffton will host Mississinewa 6 p.m. Monday, Aug 22.
