I just returned last evening from a five day vacation in Clarkston, Michigan, where our son Jonathan, his wife Sarah and my grandkids Maxon, Arlo, Milly, and Anson live. The last time they were here was Christmas 2021 and several times before that we saw them only on the internet because of covid.

It was a busy five days. My grandson Brice Bennett drove me up to this suburb of Detroit and my grandsons Chip and Oion Bennett gladly went along so they could see their cousins. My daughter Robin came up on Monday to pick me up and we came home Tuesday evening.

Jonathan was happy to give us a tour of the newly renovated home they bought during covid. He just about has it completely finished.

The kids were all busy with soccer, horseback riding, swimming and another sport that Arlo just began. We played lots of games and did eat lots of food! The weather was great.

Milly was watching me put together this column and she said she would like to do that when she gets older!

The Midwest Aces 13U team will be practicing at the Lions on Tuesday, July 5, and Thursday, July 7. Come on over and watch. There may be other games but I do not have them on my schedule.

The Zanesville Church of God Coffee Cafe is open to all on weekdays from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Centershot begins at the Zanesville Church of God on Monday, July 11.
