Calling all area Classic Car owners: The Bluffton Parks Department will be hosting a Classic Car Cruise on Sunday, July 10, at the Dutch Mill parking lot. Meet in the parking lot between 5-5:30 p.m., and at 5:30, we will do a few laps around town.

Valero Renewables in Bluffton have donated eight emergency roadside kits to be given away as prizes during this event. Be sure to pick up your free raffle ticket between 5 and 5:30 p.m. that day for a chance to win. We will announce the winners before we take to the streets on a cruise around town.

Afterward, stay for the free acoustic rock/oldies concert featuring the OK Boomer Band from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The venue is an outdoor amphitheater, so everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. Concession treats will be sold by The Grand Sweet Shop (cake pops, parfaits, caramel popcorn, soda, water, etc.). Special thanks to Brok’n Axoles Car Club for co-hosting this event.

Join us for a free Friday night concert from 8 to 10 p.m. July 8 at Kehoe Park along the Wabash River. Fleetwood Gold will take you on a musical journey through the best of Fleetwood Mac, from the early years through Stevie Nicks’ solo career. Note-for-note recreations of the best of Fleetwood Mac with tight harmonies and soaring lead vocals blended with the authentic sound of Fleetwood Mac. The band comprises five highly experienced, musically awarded musicians performing the best of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, and Peter Green.

Bring your lawn chair and a few dollars if you want to purchase something delicious from Yergy’s BBQ Food truck or something cold to wash it down from 2 Pour Guys, who will be serving adult beverages (ID required).

This concert is sponsored by the generosity of Diane Humphrey, with special thanks to series sponsors Wells County Foundation and ProFed Credit Union.

We hope you have a safe and happy Fourth of July on Monday.  The Wells Community Pool will be open for you to cool off, but other park events like tennis lessons are canceled.  Due to the holiday, the weekly Farm Wagon will not be offered on July 5.  The Bluffton fireworks show is from 10 to 10:15 p.m. and please remember that fireworks are not allowed to be used in any city park.

We want to thank the many volunteers who came to pick up trash along the Rivergreenway on Monday as part of the Wells County Library event.  We appreciate your help keeping Bluffton beautiful!

Happy 4th of July!.
