The Midwest Aces won the Northeast Indiana Travel Tournament championship over the weekend in Fort Wayne.

The Aces went 3-0 with a 5-3 win over the SC Spartans, an 8-7 win over the Northern Indiana Elite, and a 12-5 win in the championship over the Indiana Heat. 

Against the Spartans, Axton Beste pitched a complete game on the mound with five strikeouts and two walks. He also helped his cause at the plate with a triple and an RBI. Trey Privett added a triple as well, and Jaxson Dohrman and Xzavier Driscoll both added hits. 

That sent the Aces into the semifinals against the Elite. AJ Streveler was the winning pitcher in that one, striking out eight of the 22 batters he faced. 

Privett led the Aces at the plate with two hits and three RBIs. Easton Blair added a double that drove in two runs. Streveler, Beste, Dohrman, Cooper Craig, and Broc Brooks added key hits as well. 

In the championship, Drew jolley took the mound and struck out five in four innings of work. Privett took over in relief after. 

Blair was the Aces’ top hitter in the game with a triple and double and three RBIs. Beste and Dohrman each added two RBIs each. 

The Aces head to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Thursday to play in the Gameday Nationals.
