Andrea Holte and family will benefit from this year’s Ride2Provide fundraiser in Markle.
The Uniondale family has been dealing with a cancer diagnosis since August 2020. Andrea Holte was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which led to five surgeries and 11 weeks of chemo.
She was declared cancer-free until the pain returned. A biopsy revealed the cancer had come back, and in February she started another round of chemo that required her to go five days in-patient every three weeks.
After that treatment plan, it was determined she needed to have her leg amputated from the pelvis down.
“This will be very life changing, but she is willing to do whatever it takes and fight for her family,” the Ride2Provide flyer says.
The Holtes have two daughters, 10-year-old Emma and 3-year-old Ella.
“When it comes to a mother, friend, daughter, employee or wife, you simply can’t find better than her,” the flyer says.
The event is Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Markle Park.
