The City of Bluffton was recently awarded an Indiana Public Employers’ Plan safety grant.
The IPEP grant program is a program with safety/training incentives for the purchase of equipment or training with the goal of reducing injuries. The city’s award was for the purchase of wireless noise-cancelling headphones.
The goal is to make the job more safe.
“It will help the entire crew (in the) collections department in daily running of our equipment where ear protection is needed with the ability to communicate and relay important information without removing hearing protection. The guys can talk with each other without relying on only hand signals when on a noisy jobsite,” a press release said.
