Folks of all ages were welcome to the Saturday morning “Weed Wrangle” at Ouabache State Park by Ty Jessop, assistant park manager. Examples of the varieties in the park were introduced including the honeysuckle being held by Jessop. (Photos by Barbara Barbieri)
Quinn Curry loaded the cut down honeysuckle into the chopper being operated by Ty Jessop, assistant park manager.
The all-out war on honeysuckle began just north of the gate house as left to right volunteers Paul Waddles, Dan Buchinger and Chayson Brown used loppers and saws to cut it away from a trail path. After being chopped off, the remaining roots were sprayed to prevent them from growing back.
