The Upper Wabash River Basin Commission is looking for a new administrative secretary.
The board members on Thursday voted in favor of setting aside funds to advertise the opening in order to collect a pool of candidates. The person who previously held the part-time position resigned in order to take a new full-time position to better benefit her family.
Chairperson Doug Sundling said the runner-up candidate the last time the commission hired someone was unable to take the position now.
Jarrod Hahn, county surveyor and commission member, suggested that perhaps the board consider adjusting its meeting times or frequency to adapt to potential candidates.
After some discussion, the board approved advertising in local newspapers about the position being open.
