Bluffton’s girls’ and boys’ track teams both picked up wins in tri-meets with Madison-Grant and Daleville on Monday night. 

The Lady Tigers scored 99 points to place first. Madison-Grant followed with 28 and Daleville scored 24.

Bluffton dominated especially in the throws, taking first, second, and third place in both the discus and shot put. 

Lauren Reiff led the way with a school record in the discus with a throw of 122 feet, 3 inches. Alexandria Mackenzie was second in the event and Corina Rader was third. 

Reiff won the shot put as well, followed by Mackenzie and Layla Larkey. 

Reiff was also the winner of the long jump and a member of Bluffton’s first-place 4×400 meter relay team along with Olivia Schreiber, Leslie Sprankles, and Ryleigh Johnson. 

Bluffton won the other two relays as well. Maryn Schreiber, Lucia Corkwell, Amarah Robles, and Annika Linderwell took first in the 4×800, and Elsa Corkwell, Haley Gibson, Rosa Chichava, and Olivia Pula took first in the 4×100.

Sprankles also had a great night individually, taking first place in the 800, 1,600, and 3,200 meter runs.  

Johnson won the 400 meter dash and finished second in the 200. Pula won the high jump. Elsa Corkwell won the 100 hurdles and was second in the 300 hurdles to her teammate Sophie Schwartz. Lucia Corkwell was second in the 3,200 meter run, and Gibson was second in the long jump.

In the boys’ meet, Bluffton scored 83 points, followed by Madison-Grant with 56 and Daleville with 16. 

Gus Martinez won the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, and Andrew Hunt placed second in both events. Martinez also won the long jump, followed by Jon San Juan. 

Carter McConnell won both the high jump and 400 meter dash. Austin Geimer was second in the high jump, and Jude Baumgartner was second in the 400. 

Bluffton also won the 4×400 meter run, led by Hunt, McConnell, Crosbie, and Martinez. 

Other second-place finishes for Bluffton included Levi Johns in the 3,200 meter run, Johnny Cruz in the shot put, and Levi Hall in the 200. 

Bluffton’s teams will compete again on Thursday at Churubusco.
