The saying goes, “there are two sides to every story.” That is not the purpose of this letter.

I want to start by apologizing and asking for your forgiveness. I made some poor choices while working for the Wells County Sheriff’s Department in 2014. There are no words to express how much I regret my decisions.

We are often appalled when people in the public eye fall into sin. It’s easy to point the finger and say “what were they thinking?” I want to suggest to you that just because someone is in a public profession doesn’t make them immune from the struggles and temptations we all face. Instead of quickly passing judgment, it would do us well to examine our own lives while praying for others.

When I decided to run for State Representative for District 79, I knew my poor choices would eventually become a public story. If you know me, I am a person of action. I cannot and will not be paralyzed by the onslaught of evil coming against us. Yes, I said evil. Good men and women must take action. This may look different for each of us, but we must do everything we can to push back against the plans some in our government have to “fundamentally change America”.

This is why I’m running for office. With that being said, I want to share my testimony.

“For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 We are all sinners in need of forgiveness, and I too am one of them.

“For God so love the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16 I believe this with my whole heart, and you should too.“

All are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:24 Through God’s unfailing love, He has continually drawn me to faith in Him. I’ve experienced his redeeming grace and forgiveness, and my sins have been washed away by his shed blood on the cross.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1 Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I have been forgiven and able to experience God’s blessings in my life.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 I believe God is raising up individuals who are willing to stand against the evil influences impacting our country, which was founded on reverence for Almighty God. I believe I am a part of that plan in some small way.

If elected, with God’s guidance, I will do everything in my power to represent conservative values in our Indiana House of Representatives. I love this community and often tell people this is one of the best places to raise a family.
