Southern Wells’ boys’ track team lost 77-45 to South Adams.
Potter Garrett won both the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs. Nick Lozoya won the high jump and took second in the 100 meter dash. Perrin Gates won the discus.
Other second-place finishes for the Raiders included Joshua Bricker in the 3,200 meter run, Andrew Aker in the 800 meter run, Meet Patel in the 400 meter dash, Levi Woodward in the high jump, and AJ Thompson in both shot put and discus.
The Lady Raiders fell to the Starfires 100-23.
Sydney McFarren won the 3,200 meter run, and Brooke Tonner won the high jump. Zoey Solga took second in both the 200 meter dash and discus.
Southern Wells also competed in the Eastern Relays on Saturday, with the girls placing seventh out of 12 teams wiht 29 points and the boys placing 11th out of 12 teams with 26.5 points.
The Lady Raiders placed in the top five in four events. Tonner placed third in the high jump, McFarren placed fourth in the 1,600 meter run, Solga placed fifth in the discus, and Brianna Hughett placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles.
On the boys’ side, the Raiders placed in the top five in four events as well. Aker, Patel, Bricker, and Garrett took third in the distance medley. Aiden Brewster, Woodward, Aker, and Lozoya placed fifth in the 4,100 meter relay. Garrett placed fourth in the 1,600 meter run, and Lozoya placed fifth in the high jump.
Southern Wells will be back in action on Friday at the South Adams Invitational.
