Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority Alpha Province came to Bluffton this year. Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority began more than 100 years ago, and was founded in Hartford City. It is based on friendship and service with dedication to serving their communities.

This year the annual Alpha Province meeting was hosted by Bluffton’s Epsilon Zeta Chapter.

Friday night began the weekend with the Visiting International Officers Reception at the Wells County Public Library. Beth Beckham from Xi Theta Chapter International Vice President was the VIO. At that event, four area businesses — Bijou Gift Boutique, Fraction Consignment and Home, Lorelai Lace Boutique,  and Ellie Grace and Co., provided a style show.

Twelve area businesses provided door prizes which were given away after the style show. The door prizes were provided by A Perfect Blend, Grand Sweet Shop, American Salvage Co., Hugh’s Bakery and Coffeehouse, Posey Pot Florist, Ya Ya’s Mid Century and Modern, The Simple Things Soy Candle Co, Magnolias and Mints, plus Bijou, Ellie Grace, Fraction, and Lorelai Lace.

Registration packets and gifts were given to each individual in attendance. Items were donated by the Wells County Chamber of Commerce, Jerry Flack, Ouabache State Park, Pretzels, WEG, and Dale, Huffman, and Babcock.

Refreshments were provided by the sorority sisters.

The Saturday events included a memorial  service by Beta Delta Chapter of Warren for Zeta sisters, a meeting, and an evening dinner at the Timber Ridge Golf Club. Several silent auction gifts were available and other items were offered by drawings.

Installation of officers, a meeting, and a farewell lunch were held n Sunday. Officers installed for 2022-23 were Lisa Collins of Marion, president; Pam McIntre of Marion, secretary; Misty Clugh of Lafayette, editor; Karen Stafford of Hartford City, organizer; and Judy Maxwell of Bluffton, counselor.

The hosts wish to thank the library, Comfort Inn and Suites, and Timber Ridge for providing the venues for the event.
