INCIDENTS
City:
Thursday, 5:59 p.m., parking lot of Walmart Supercenter. Bunch of prescription pills lying on the ground. Officer dispatched and collected the pills for proper disposal.
Thursday, 10:17 p.m., residence in the 400 block of West Wabash Street. Officers dispatched to a report of two men attempting to enter the vacant house. The area was checked, the house was secured and no one was found inside.
Friday, 12:44 a.m., 400 block of Eastmoor Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Report of a car painted by a vandal with blue paint in the past couple hours.
Friday, 2:46 a.m., residence in the 500 block of West Market Street. Caller reported a strange man was standing on the door step of the residence. Officers dispatched and located the man who reportedly had walked away from the Praxis substance abuse treatment facility on West Lancaster Street. Officers spoke with the man and then drove him to the Airplane Express convenience store to wait until Praxis reopened later in the morning to try and retrieve his belongings from the facility. Then, at 8:49 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the convenience store on a report of a man sleeping in one of the booths. It turned out to be the same man. An officer assisted by driving the man back to Praxis.
Ossian:
Thursday, 4:19 p.m., residence on Church Street, Ossian. Caller reported an unresponsive male, possible drug overdose. Ossian police, sheriff’s deputy, Ossian Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS responded. Chief David Rigney and Ossian police officer Russ Mounsey administered narcan and performed CPR until the man became responsive. He was transported to a local hospital. The man reportedly admitted to having “snorted Roxies,” a slang term for inhaling a ground up version of the prescription pain medication Roxicodone.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Wednesday, 9:20 p.m., Main Street at Dustman Road. Jeffrey S. Priester, 39, Bluffton, was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry west on Dustman Road when he made a left turn to head south and collided with an eastbound 2007 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Alyssa F. Sell, 17, rural Markle. Damage exceeded $2,500. Priester was arrested on intoxicated driving charges.
Ossian:
Friday, April 22, 6:30 p.m., Jefferson Street at LaFever Street. Victor Waters, 55, Bluffton, was driving south on Jefferson Street in a 2004 Lexus when he failed to stop in time for a line of traffic that was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection. The Lexus hit a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Jessica Kampfe, 26, Angola, from behind, shoving it into a 2015 Mazda CX-9 driven by David Wetzel, 35, Woodburn, pushing it into a 2009 Mercedes-Benz S-Class driven by Jimmy Gamble, 50, Kendallville. Total damage exceeded $5,000. Waters was arrested on several charges including intoxicated driving.

Friday, 1:39 p.m., 350S east of Ellingham Pike. Field fire moving toward a house. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched to douse the fire.
