Monday, 2:30 p.m., Praxis substance abuse treatment facility. Officer requested for a patient threatening self-harm.

Monday, 5:27 p.m., Lowe’s Home Improvement, 2105 N. Main St. Officer helped a man load his large tool box back onto his truck after the box had fallen off the bed.

Tuesday, 1:45 p.m., apartment in the 100 block of South Johnson Street. Caller reported having money taken from his account.

Tuesday, 2:15 a.m., Ind. 116 at 600E. Sheriff’s deputy clocked a 2017 Nissan Rouge driving southeast on Ind. 116 at 70 mph-55 zone and pulled it over. While speaking with the driver, identified as Caleb Zachary Hollett, 29, Bryant, the deputy observed in his report to the court that he could smell an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The deputy asked Hollet about the odor and Hollet allegedly admitted he had a pre-packed “bowl” in his vehicle. A bowl is a slang term for a glass pipe used to ingest illegal substances. A SoToxa test allegedly showed the presence of THC in Hollet’s body. THC is the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. He had a prior conviction in Marshall County Superior Court June 12, 2015, for possession of marijuana. Hollett was charged with possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor; and speeding 70 mph-55 zone, a Class C infraction. Bond was set at $2,500.,

ACCIDENTS

Monday, 4:41 p.m., Main Street at Wiley Avenue. A 1996 Ford Ranger driven by Kylie N. Joseph, 29, Pennville, hit a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Kristen J. Bosworth, 40, Bluffton, from behind as Bosworth was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection. Damage exceeded $1,000.

County:

Monday, 1:13 p.m., 100E at U.S. 224 next to Norwell High School. Taylor Licht, 21, Muncie, was driving a vehicle south on 100E, failed to yield the right-of-way and Licht’s vehicle collided with the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Kenneth Mitchell, 75, Fort Wayne. Mitchell and his passenger, Jane Mitchell, were taken to Lutheran Hospital by Wells County EMS for treatment of pain. There was no estimate of damages.

Tuesday, 7:33 a.m., 1000W south of 600S. Kayleigh Jones, 16, rural Warren, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt south on 1000W when she swerved to miss a cat crossing the road. She swerved, over corrected, crossed the road, traveled off the east side of the road and the Cobalt hit a tree line and a fence line. After that it spun 90 degrees and came to a rest in the middle of the road. Jones was not injured. Damage exceeded $5,000.

FIRE RUNS

Tuesday, 1:49 a.m., Charles and Linda Isch residence at 6700E-400S. Fire alarm. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Alarm malfunctioned.

Tuesday, 8:48 p.m., passerby reported smoke in the area of U.S. 224 and 700E. Bluffton Fire Department and Ossian Fire Department dispatched. Source of smoke was traced to a wood burning stove at a nearby house. Both fire departments were advised to disregard.

ARRESTS

Trey Allen O’Reilly, 22, rural Bluffton; possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,500.
