The Norwell Lady Knights fell 9-1 in Monday’s softball game at Leo. 

After two scoreless innings, the Lions struck first in the third with two runs. Both teams added a run in the fourth to make it a 3-1 game. 

Norwell (4-4) was not able to come up with any more runs after that though, and the Lions added four more in the fifth and two more in the seventh.

Allyson Burtron led the Lady Knights’ bats with a solo home run and single. Jordan Markley added a double, and Hannah Troyer added a single. 

Brielle Nunley suffered the loss on the mound. She pitched all seven innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out two and walking none. 

Norwell’s defense committed 10 errors in the game, which contributed to seven unearned runs. 

Norwell will look to bounce back on Wednesday at Bellmont.
