The Norwell Knights defeated Jay County 12-2 in five innings by the 10-run rule in Tuesday’s baseball game at Portland. 

Norwell (6-3) got on the board first with five runs in the second inning. The visitors added four more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth. 

Both Jay County runs came in the fourth inning. 

Lane Lewis got the win on the mound for the Knights, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out six and walking one in five innings of work. 

Norwell had eight hits at the plate, with Cade Shelton and Lleyton Bailey each coming up with two hits and two RBIs. Trey Bodenheimer added a double and three RBIs. 

Norwell will take the diamond again on Thursday when it hosts Homestead.
