The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff, ambassadors and community members celebrated the opening and ribbon cutting at Ossian Wine & Spirits on April 8.

Ossian Wine & Spirits is located at 702 S. Jefferson St. in Ossian.

Goldy and Dolly Goraya, owners of Ossian Wine & Spirits, purchased the old Collier’s building in 2021 and transformed the inside to welcome a new store to offer a wide variety of beer, wine, and liquor. Goldy said there wasn’t another business in town that offered these products and saw the opportunity.

“We have a lot to offer and more than you would ever expect. If we don’t have it here, we will get it for you,” Goldy said.

The Gorayas are not new to owning a business in Ossian. They are also the owners of the Ossian BP and Subway.

“We love Ossian and the small town feel it offers,” said Goldy. “The open countryside reminds us of where we grew up in our country. We also used to live in New York and our two kids don’t like the big city or the crowds.”

After living in New York, the Gorayas moved to Greenwood, Ind., in 2007. They moved to the little town of Ossian 11 years ago after purchasing the Ossian BP.

“Our children go to Northern Wells schools, and they love it here,” said Dolly. “We love that everyone knows one another in this community and everyone is so friendly.”

Meyer Renovation remodeled the building from top to bottom, adding a new ceiling, removing walls, painting, new flooring, and much more.

“The entire building was transformed, and we appreciate working with them on this project,” said Goldy.

“The support we have had is overwhelming and thank everyone for coming out to the grand opening,” said Dolly. “We have the Ossian BP because of the continued support and we appreciate it. Just keep loving us.”
