The Midwest Aces 13-and-under baseball team from Bluffton won the Midwest Tournament Factory Turf War Championship in Rossford, Ohio, Saturday.

The Aces kicked things off with a 12-1 win over the Galion Ambush. Axton Beste was the winning pitcher, and Cooper Craig came in relief to finish. At the plate, Drew Jolley hit a double and two singles, and Easton Blair added two singles. Adam Mahnensmith and Trey Privett each added a hit.

In their next game, the Aces shutout Total Baseball Travel out of Rossford 8-0. Jolley struck out 11 while walking one on the mound. The Aces smacked three home runs at the plate too, which came off the bats of Beste, Craig, and Brock Brooks.

Finally, the Aces had to take on a Pennsylvania/Ohio Beaver Valley West team – which up until this matchup had allowed zero runs in the tournament. The Aces were able to win that championship game 5-0.

AJ Streveler got the win on the mound, while Jaxson Dohrman’s three-run homer at the plate led the Aces’ bats. Blair, Mahnensmith, and Streveler each added hits as well.

The Aces head to Cincinnati for their next regional tournament on April 22-24.
