The 2021-2022 Bluffton-Southern Wells Dollars for Scholars Board honored more than 80 students with scholarships on Sunday, April 24.
“We would like to commend them for the hard work and perseverance throughout elementary, middle school, and high school, which has led to this milestone,” the organization said in a press release.
“The Dollars for Scholars Board is comprised of community members that work together to secure funds throughout the year so that scholarships may be awarded to graduating seniors from Bluffton and Southern Wells high schools each spring,” the release said. “Each contribution, whether great or small in amount, works together to bless graduating seniors. When a donor has contributed $500 or more, there is the opportunity to name the scholarship. Other contributions are placed together and given as Dollars for Scholars scholarships. This year, we awarded $57,200 to 83 Bluffton and Southern Wells graduating seniors.”
Scholarships varied from $500 to $1,600.
