City:

Tuesday, 3:54 p.m., 400 block of Eastmoor Drive, Bluffton Woods. Caller reported seeing a parked car with a small sack of marijuana on the roof of the car. Officer checked the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

Tuesday, 4:09 p.m., Praxis, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Officer served a warrant for arrest on a man wanted out of Indianapolis. No further information was available.

Tuesday, 4:32 p.m., Zestos Ice Cream, 2180 Commerce Drive. Semi got stuck in Zesto’s yard. Information taken for a report.

Tuesday, 5:12 p.m., Pine Grove apartments. Officers responded to a report of two roommates arguing loudly over residency in the apartment. Parties separated.

Tuesday, 9:50 p.m., Praxis, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Officers and Wells County EMS dispatched on a report of a client at the rehabilitation facility suffering from a seizure.

Tuesday, 10:52 p.m., Main Motel, 1005 S. Main St. Report of an intoxicated male tenant outside of his room yelling. Officer responded but the man had returned back inside his room.

Tuesday, 10:58 p.m., Lowe’s Home Improvement, 2105 N. Main St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Wednesday, 3:54 a.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center emergency room, 303 S. Main St. Officers requested to assist with an aggressive patient.

Wednesday, 9:24 a.m., WEG, 410 E. Spring St. Officers. Bluffton Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS called out for an employee suffering chest pains.

Wednesday, 10:07 a.m., Bluffton High School, 1 Tiger Trail. School resource officer investigating a report of a that one person battered another at the school.

Wednesday, 10:57 a.m., Praxis, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Report that a male client battered a female client at the facility. The male client then left the facility.

Tuesday, 1:46 p.m., caller reported seeing a man lie down in a ditch and when the caller’s husband yelled at the man, the man looked up and laid back down again. Bluffton Fire Department first responders, Wells County EMS and sheriff’s deputies responded. The man then reportedly got up and started walking erratically toward Bluffton. There was nothing physically wrong with him and he was taken by a deputy to his destination.

Tuesday, 3:57 p.m., Southern Wells Schools, 9120S-300W. Tow truck hauled off a teacher’s car. The truck was tracked to Main Street at Market Street where it was pulled over. The tow truck driver said he had been provided with wrong information and returned the vehicle to the school.

Wednesday, 1:53 a.m., while patrolling Meridian Road, a sheriff’s deputy noticed that someone had removed the railroad crossing sign from the north side of the crossing of the Wabash Central Railroad with Meridian.

Wednesday, 10:28 a.m., residence on Meridian Road south of 800N. Caller reported being defrauded.

Wednesday, 10:48 a.m., residence on 1000S west of 700W. House ransacked and burglarized. Several items stolen.

Ossian:

Tuesday, 8:46 p.m., Ossian BP convenience store, 506 S. Jefferson St. Ossian police officer spotted a man wanted for arrest in Allen County. Adam McBride, Petroleum, was arrested on the warrant for failure to appear in court for a hearing stemming from a March 26, 2019, conviction for operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalency of .15 percent or more, a Class A misdemeanor.

Wednesday, 2:57 p.m., Ossian Town Hall, 507 N. Jefferson Street. A man walked into the town hall and told a police officer that someone in a mini van had been attempting to hit his vehicle and had followed him into the parking lot of the Ossian Police Department. The van left and another officer tried to locate it but was unsuccessful. The complainant had also left the police department without making a further statement.

Tuesday, 6:40 a.m., Ind. 116 near 300N. Shane D. Ensign, 34, Huntington, hit a deer with his 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. Damage exceeded $1,000.

Tuesday, 6:44 p.m., 1100N near Marzane Road. Philip L. Drabenstot, 58, rural Huntington, hit a deer with his 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Damage to the sport utility vehicle exceeded $1,000.

Tuesday, 9:20 p.m., Ind. 116 near 150N. Garry Weybright, 77, rural Syracuse, hit a deer with his 2019 Honda Odyssey. Damage to the van exceeded $5,000.

FIRES

Wednesday, 9:38 p.m., 11292N-400W residence of Michael R. and Jacquelyn Young. Chimney fire spread to the attic. Markle Fire Department dispatched with mutual aid from fire departments from Uniondale, Roanoke and Southwest Allen County. Firefighters were on the scene for several hours. The fire caused considerable damage to the house and the attached garage.

Jared Joe West, 34, Ossian; disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,000. 

Jacob David Pigg, 32, rural Huntington; operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,500. Bonded.
