Ty Eugene Crispen, 40, Bluffton, violated probation by being charged in Allen County with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; and failing to pay costs and fees of his Wells County case. Ordered to serve four days in jail — credited as time served. Probation extended 18 months.
Crispen was sentenced June 11, 2018, in Wells Superior Court on charges of possession of a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug look-alike substance, a Level 6 felony, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Shanden R. Sliger, 34, Bluffton, charged with nine counts of theft, all Class A misdemeanors.
Sliger is charged with skip-scanning merchandise at the self-checkout aisle of the Bluffton Walmart Supercenter between Dec. 7, 2021, and Jan. 24. Skip scanning is when a customer will scan the universal price code of one object and then intentionally forego scanning another item in order to eventually pay a total price that is below the actual value of the items the person eventually leaves the store in possession of.
Walmart asset protection allegedly caught Sliger in the act of skip-scanning Arizona green tea, chocolate and Crest toothpaste on Jan. 24. That prompted the asset protection associate to check past videos from the store’s surveillance video system matching video from transactions where Sliger used the same debit card. In those videos, the associate allegedly discovered Sliger also skip-scanning merchandise Dec, 7, 18, 21, 23, 28, 31, Jan. 3 and 18.
Among the other items he is alleged to have skip-scanned included a Big Joe chair, a case of Yoo Hoo a bottle of Clear Eyes vodka and Hugs berry drinks.
In all, he allegedly failed to pay for $157.60 in merchandise.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Breanna Brickley, 28, Bluffton, charged with failure to return to lawful detention, a Level 6 felony. Bond set at $5,000. Larry Mock appointed public defender.
On Sept. 24, 2021, Brickley was sentenced to 88 days in the Wells County Jail following her conviction for possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. She was ordered to report to the Wells County Jail, but allegedly failed to do so.
