INCIDENTS
City:
Monday, 3:04 p.m., apartment in the 900 block of West Cherry Street. Sheriff’s detective assisted a Huntington County Community Corrections officer who was checking up on a probationer and discovered a small container of marijuana in the apartment. The detective took possession of the marijuana and disposed of it.
Monday, 7:55 p.m., Budget Inn, 1090 N. Main St. Fight between a man and a woman. Dakota Thomas Vibbert, 19, Bluffton, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor; criminal confinement, a Level 5 felony; and minor in possession of alcohol, a Class C misdemeanor. No bond set.
Tuesday, 1:01 a.m., apartment in the 100 block of North Main Street. Law enforcement officers served a Huntington County warrant for arrest on Dustin Crawford for violating probation from an original conviction for dealing marijuana.
Tuesday, 7:49 a.m., Bluffton Animal Clinic, 1890 N. Main St. Two dogs fighting and attacking the caller. Officers dispatched. Situation calmed, parties separated. Information taken for a report.

Friday, 2:09 p.m., residence on 900S west of 300W. Verbal altercation between a husband and wife. Deputy responded and spoke with them both. Situation calmed.
Friday, 4:26 p.m., 300W south of 500S. Report of water on the roadway.
Friday, 7:35 p.m., Ind. 1 at Ind. 218. Report of a car stopped in the middle of the road with its lights off. When another vehicle approached, the car reportedly pulled off on a side street in Reiffsburg. Sheriff’s deputy dispatched and checked the area but did not see a vehicle matching the description.
Saturday, 6:02 p.m., 100 block of Countryside Drive, Markle. Sheriff’s deputy assisted a Markle Police officer in handling a dispute between two neighbors.
Saturday, 6:30 p.m., South Street at Maddux Street, Markle. While leaving the Countryside Drive residence listed above, the sheriff’s deputy noticed a man walking near the antique mall in Markle who was yelling. The deputy asked him what was wrong and the man reportedly said that he was yelling to release frustration. He planned to return to his apartment for the evening.
Saturday, 5:47 p.m., 100E at 950N. Mattress in the roadway. Deputy dispatched but the mattress was gone when he arrived.
Saturday, 10:17 p.m., River Terrace Estates, 400 Caylor Blvd. Caller reported someone had stolen her black Kia Sorento. Deputy responded and located the car in a different parking lot than the one in which the caller had thought she had parked.
Sunday, 1:21 a.m., while patrolling Main Street at Dustman Road, a sheriff’s deputy noted that a vehicle ahead of him pulled off to the side of the road. Curious as to why the driver had done that, the deputy stopped and spoke with the driver who said he thought the deputy was going to pull him over, so he pulled over. The deputy explained he had no intention of pulling the driver over, so the driver left.
Sunday, 3:16 a.m., Wabash Street at Williams Street. Report of an intoxicated man walking in the middle of the street. Sheriff’s deputy observed the man went inside his residence.
Sunday, 9:22 a.m., Ind. 218 at Ind. 3. Sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle pulled off to the side of the road with a man slumped over inside. Deputy spoke with the man who was a third shift worker. He drove his vehicle into the pull-off at the intersection to take a nap.
Sunday, 6:36 p.m., Silo Farms, 11080N-Ind. 1. Caller reported female roommate behaving violently. Deputies responded. Woman transported to Parkview Behavioral Health.
Sunday, 8 p.m., Ind. 1 south of 1100N. Sheriff’s deputy assisted a woman whose electric car battery had died. The deputy assisted the woman with pushing the car into the parking lot of the nearby Lighted Gardens reception hall. The woman’s husband was contacted and he was en route from Indianapolis to pick her up. The deputy gave the woman a courtesy transport to the Ossian Deli.
Sunday, 11:03 a.m., Ind. 1 south of 800N. Caller reported a motorist had hit and killed the caller’s dog.

Saturday, 4:40 p.m., residence in the 800 block of North Jefferson Street. Verbal altercation between husband and wife. Officer and sheriff’s deputy responded. Situation calmed. Male half left.
Monday, 12:29 a.m., residence in the 800 block of Maxine Drive. Several law enforcement officers went to the residence to serve a warrant on a woman who was supposed to be at the residence. The woman was not located.
Monday, 9:58 p.m., 400 block of West LaFever Street. Caller reported his pickup truck had been vandalized again.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Monday, Feb. 7, midnight, 419 Eastmoor Dr. in the Bluffton Woods mobile home park. A 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, registered to Barry W. Young, Bluffton, was hit by a hit-and-run driver. Damage exceeded $1,000.
Tuesday, 10:43 a.m., behind the strip of businesses at 127 Oak Forest Drive. Eddie L. Ferguson, 67, Bluffton, was driving a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup truck. He was trying to make a tight left turn in the large pickup truck and in order to do so, he drove to the right in order to widen out the turn. In the process, he clipped a parked 2015 Chrysler Town & Country van, the registered owner of which was not listed. Damage exceeded $1,000.

Friday, 5:20 p.m., Ind. 116 near Terrace Drive. Michael J. Mittlestedt, 51, rural Bluffton, hit a deer with his 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe. Damage to the sport utility vehicle exceeded $1,000.
Friday, 11:40 p.m., 1100N west of 100W. Kierra A. Ormsby, 17, Ossian, hit a deer with a 2013 Honda. Damage to the car exceeded $2,500.
Saturday, 6:42 a.m., 300W at U.S. 224. Froilan R. Perez-Samayoa, 52, address unknown, drove a 2019 Toyota Highlander, registered to Jose L. Ochoa-Arreguin, Warner Robbins, Ga., into the path of a northwest bound 2017 Ford Escape driven by Nancy Bowen, 65, Van Wert, Ohio. The investigating deputy was able to learn via interpreter that Perez-Samayoa was unable to see the approaching Escape because the windows of the Highlander were fogged. Neither driver was injured. Damage exceeded $10,000.
Monday, 8:24 p.m., U.S. 224 at 300W. Massa Wybenga, 25, Fort Wayne was driving south on 300W. Gregg Cleveland, 62, of Bangor, Wis., was driving east on U.S. 224 (the press release did not state what kind of vehicles either was driving). Wybenga failed to yield the right of way causing a side- impact collision with Cleveland’s vehicle. Both drivers were transported to Lutheran Hospital by Wells County EMS. Markle Fire Rescue and Uniondale Fire Department first responders were both dispatched to the scene. There was no estimate of damages available.
FIRE RUNS
Tuesday, 11:59 a.m., 411 Homestead Ave. Smoke alarm. Ossian Fire Department responded (the house is about two blocks from the department). Cooking triggered the alarm.
ARRESTS
Amber Marie Larkin, 39, Fort Wayne; one count of theft and one count of fraud, both Level 6 felonies. No bond set.
Dillon Leuigi Geninatti, 29, Pennville; probation violation. No bond set.
