Fort Wayne’s Parks Department is offering two free events they call “Exploring Downtown Fort Wayne.”

The two walking tours are led by Keith Hood and depart from the Community Center, 233 W. Main St., in downtown Fort Wayne. The tours offered to those 55 and over are free and last about one and a half hours. Pre-registration is required to 260-427-6460.

The Bradley Hotel will be visited on Wednesday, April 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Participants will need to bring a mask (as they may be required) and wear comfortable shoes. Register before April 6.

The new Lutheran Hospital will be toured on Wednesday, May 18, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Bring a face mask and wear comfortable shoes. Register before May 11.

Another option for exploring is the “Downtown Walkers” program offered on Wednesdays, April 13 to Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. Routes vary and are held to approximately 1 mile with occasional stops for a quick tour, if walkers are interested. Walks begin at the Community Center.
